Role Description
The QC Scientist will conduct analyses of plant based pharmaceutical active ingredients (APIs) using GCMS and HPLC-UV instrumentation. Their testing will support the cultivation, extraction, and downstream processing performed at the GMP production site.
Job Responsibilities:
* Performing testing of plant sourced molecules according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Preparation of working solutions, mobile phases and reagents.
* Documentation of work following GMP and data integrity requirements.
* Carry out routine maintenance, verification and calibration of instrumentation (GCMS, HPLC-UV, Density Meter).
* Ensuring laboratory stock and consumables are maintained to prevent delays in testing.
* Participating in internal audits and supporting regulatory inspections as needed.
* Involvement in data review and process improvement/optimization.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams including QA and production.
Desired Experience and Skills:
* A degree in Chemistry (or a related subject), and/or relevant laboratory experience.
* Experience in working in compliance with quality regulations, ideally GMP.
* Understanding of safe laboratory practices: COSHH, risk assessments, PPE etc.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve analytical issues.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
* Willingness to learn and contribute to the development of new procedures
Salary: £30,000-£32,000 Depending On Experience
