Our UK HR team based at our Head Office in Hatfield and are the go-to people for all of our UK employees and Managers circa 4500. The UK People Advisory Team handle all HR employee relations queries, priding themselves on delivering a right-first-time service. They do this by offering pragmatic, sensible, contemporary and flexible advice.
The People Advisory Team, Centre of Excellence are the knowledge experts supporting managers and employees. The successful candidate will have HR Generalist and Employee Relations experience as well as an excellent knowledge of employment law. The ability to work to tight deadlines and be flexible in your thinking. You’ll work as part of a wider HR team and will be confident to make decisions that will balance multiple factors.
What you’ll do
1. Employee Relations casework including Disciplinary, Grievances, Appeals, Redundancy and consultation processes. These will have varying degrees of complexity
2. Provide managers with pragmatic and commercial advice in line with best practice, legislation and fairness.
3. From an Absence and Wellbeing perspective you’ll be aligned to an area of the business giving advice to managers on all sickness absence including ill health capability. You’ll also work closely with our external service providers including Occupational Health and our Group Insurance provider
4. You’ll provide expert advice to managers to support them through complex people matters to achieve the best outcome for the business and individuals
5. Work closely with the HR Business Partners to deliver initiatives across the business
6. Share industry best practices to support personal development
7. Design and deliver initiatives to support Management Development and capability
8. Build relationships with key stakeholders within HR but also in the wider business
9. Draw on the experience and knowledge within the other HR Centre of Excellences
10. Ensure management of people issues is consistent with Computacenter’s values.
What you’ll need
11. CIPD qualified or working towards your CIPD qualification
12. Strong HR generalist background
13. Excellent up to date knowledge of employment legislation and the application of this
14. Experience in making sound, risk assessed decisions
15. Expertise in all aspects of absence management
16. Ability to respond and manage a busy and diverse workload
17. Good verbal and written communication skills
18. An understanding of working with Unions would be useful along with an awareness of TUPE
