Overview
The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.
Responsibilities
The Briefings Officer will lead the production of high‑quality briefings for the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, and MOPAC’s CEO. The postholder will ensure briefing materials and policy advice on policing and crime issues are delivered on time and are of the highest quality. The role also supports the Briefings Lead in coordinating responses to Mayor’s Questions and other follow‑up commitments and actions to the London Assembly. This fast‑paced position requires close collaboration with colleagues across MOPAC and the rest of City Hall to ensure leadership receives the information they need.
Qualifications
Excellent writing skills, close attention to detail, organisational and planning skills, and the ability and confidence to work at pace. Candidates must be politically astute and capable of anticipating the needs of senior stakeholders in a fast‑moving, high‑profile policy area.
