Our client BAE Systems is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager - Strategy to join their dynamic team in the Defence & Security sector, operating out of Barrow-in-Furness. This is a 6 month contract role, requiring 1-2 days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively managing categories, specifically electrical systems and equipment
Interfacing with internal customers to ensure smooth operations
Providing leadership and coaching to 1 or 2 direct reports
Implementing change management and continuous improvement initiatives
Influencing stakeholders through effective negotiation and communication
Supporting multiple build lines and managing major equipment design and development
Job Requirements:
Experience in supply chain management, particularly within electrical systems and equipment
Understanding of the Defence, Aerospace, Construction, Major Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, or Nuclear sectors
Proficient in managing and coaching team members
Experience with change management and continuous improvement strategies
Strong stakeholder negotiation and influencing skills
CIPS or APM qualifications are desirable but not essential
Additional Information:
You will work across three major projects, contributing to a decades-long order book into the 2050s
