Civils Supervisor
Chelmsford Area - Works between London & Colchester
Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum -Core hours: Monday to Friday, daytime

Role Summary for Civils Supervisor
Supervise and deliver civils works on excavation and reinstatement projects across multiple sites, ensuring safe, compliant, on-time delivery to specification. The role combines hands-on supervision, quality control, traffic management coordination and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities for Civils Supervisor
Supervise excavation and reinstatement works from start to completion
Ensure all work complies with NRSWA requirements and site-specific specifications
Plan daily work activities and allocate resources to meet programme targets
Set up and manage traffic management arrangements and ensure safe site access/egress
Carry out quality checks and sign off reinstatements and associated paperwork
Monitor and enforce health, safety and environmental procedures on site
Maintain accurate site records, timesheets, permits and handover documentation
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, local authorities and utility companies as required
Coordinate plant, materials and deliveries; attend Longstanton yard on an ad hoc basis for equipment/material collection or technical meetings
Mentor and coach operatives to improve standards and performance
Desirable Training and Skills
Prior experience supervising excavation and reinstatement projects on highways/utility works
Experience with traffic management design/implementation and permit processes
Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and safe systems of work (e.g., RAMS)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to read drawings, materials specs and reinstatement standards
Competent use of basic IT for reporting and documentatio

Able to prioritise, make decisions and solve site issues under pressure
Reliable, flexible and willing to travel between sites and to Longstanton when required
Required Qualifications and Certifications
Full NRSWA (essential)
NRSWA Supervisor (or equivalent supervisory accreditation)
