New Directions Education is working with a primary school in Birkenhead that is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support in Year 5.
This role is to start ASAP and is expected to be long term, ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills and experience supporting KS2 pupils.

The Role:
You will be supporting a Year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis, helping them remain engaged in learning, manage behaviour positively, and access the curriculum effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
– Providing consistent 1:1 support
– Supporting behaviour regulation and engagement
– Encouraging positive learning habits and independence
– Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
– Creating a calm, structured and supportive environment
We’re Looking For:
– Experience working as an LSA or TA in a primary school
– Strong behaviour management skills
– Experience supporting KS2 pupils (Year 5 desirable)
– Patient, resilient and reliable approach
– Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
15. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
16. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
17. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
18. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
19. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
