Our client is the European division of a multibillion-pound global group and a market leader within the manufacturing sector. The business is experiencing sustained growth and has invested heavily in strengthening its finance function over the past 12 months. They are now seeking a Financial Accountant to join the team, someone who can provide a solid pair of hands, bring technical competence, and grow alongside a high-performing finance team and top tier management. The Role Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring strong financial control across the business. You will work closely with experienced, high-calibre accountants and senior stakeholders within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities (Typical Duties) Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations Ownership and maintenance of balance sheet integrity Support the month-end and year-end close processes Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and statutory requirements Support external audits and statutory accounts preparation Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge Continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting Ad-hoc analysis and project work to support business growth initiatives Person Specification Essential: Part-qualified (CIMA / ACCA) Strong technical accounting foundation Experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment preferred but not essential Confident working with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems High attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach Desirable: Experience within a group or international business Exposure to statutory accounts or audit processes A mindset geared towards process improvement and development Personal Attributes: Professional, reliable, and capable of working with minimal supervision Strong communication skills with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to progress within a growing finance function Comfortable working alongside senior management and high-performing peers Whats on Offer Competitive salary Full study support (CIMA or ACCA) Clear progression opportunities within a growing European division Exposure to a global, market-leading organisation Collaborative environment working with first-class finance professionals
