About the Role As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will play a vital part in supporting students with complex needs to access learning and daily activities. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to deliver tailored support, implement behaviour and communication strategies, and help students achieve personal goals. This is a hands-on and rewarding role, ideal for someone who is patient, compassionate, and confident in building trusting relationships with children who may present challenging behaviour or require personal care assistance. Responsibilities Provide individual and group support to pupils with special educational needs. Assist in implementing education and behaviour plans designed by teachers and specialists. Support pupils with personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner. Encourage positive interaction and communication among students. Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment. Promote inclusion and encourage pupils to participate fully in school life. Work collaboratively with the wider school team to monitor progress and celebrate achievements. Qualifications Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly autism or SEMH, is highly desirable. Understanding of safeguarding, de-escalation, and behaviour support strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly. A caring, resilient, and proactive attitude. Willingness to undertake personal care duties when required. Must hold the right to work in the UK and be willing to apply for or hold an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service.
