The Three Counties Medical School (TCMS) at the University of Worcester invites applications from outstanding educators to join our growing faculty. As a school with a strong mission to widen access to medicine and retain graduates within the local workforce, TCMS offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a progressive, community‑engaged medical programme.
This post is essential to ensure high‑quality, consistent delivery of core medical/healthcare curriculum content and compliance with the General Medical Council (GMC) in Pharmacology and Prescribing. It is pivotal for the training of medical students who require a high level of knowledge in medical pharmacology and prescribing to pass the Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) and Prescribing safely assessment (PSA) as required by the GMC.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Medical Pharmacology and Prescribing on the MBChB and MSc PA courses. Responsibilities include designing and developing learning materials, delivering lectures and practical teaching, and assessing medical students. The role requires collaboration with Phase and Programme Leads to enhance the student experience and may involve research and scholarship activities.
Applicants are expected to have a track record of research in a relevant field. The role is offered at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. Experience teaching medical students or similar and an interest in developing as a medical educator are highly desirable. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to meet the needs of the MBChB curriculum. Opportunities for professional development are available.
Candidates who are not already employees of the University of Worcester will be employed through the subsidiary company Uniworc Limited and will automatically be enrolled in the Aviva FlexHE defined contribution pension scheme, subject to eligibility criteria.
