Lead Quantity Surveyor
to join their team based in Manchester. As the Lead Quantity Surveyor, you'll take the lead on the
commercial management
of multi-utility projects - from
cost estimation
and
budget control
to contract administration,
compliance
, and
client/contractor relationships
and play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with regulations and industry standards. If you're an

Key responsibilities for the Lead Quantity Surveyor:
* Prepare/manage cost estimates, budgets, financial reports, and weekly/monthly project P&Ls.
* Monitor costs to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on schedule.
* Administer contracts, negotiate variations, and liaise with credit control
* Work with project teams, engineers, and clients to meet specifications, safety, and quality standards.
* Support with supplier/subcontractor pricing, project cost feedback, and site visits
* Analyse job performance against margin expectations and address discrepancies with operations.
* Provide commercial insights, risk analysis, and advice on costs, contracts, and potential risks.
* Mentor and support Assistant/Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Skills and experience required for the Lead Quantity Surveyor:
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Utility Construction or Contracting sector.
* Knowledge of UK construction and utility standards, regulations, and best practices
* Hands-on experience with contracts, procurement, and financial management.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong understanding of utility infrastructure delivery and its challenges.
* Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
* A full clean UK Driving Licence
