We are looking for an Assistant Commissioning Officer to work within the Policy, Commissioning and Communications Directorate within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk.
The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is elected by the Norfolk public to set the countywide strategy for reducing crime and disorder and improving community safety. The PCC is the voice of the people in policing, holding Norfolk’s Chief Constable to account for delivering an efficient and effective police service. Your PCC sets a Police and Crime Plan which outlines priorities for 2025-2029.
The Commissioning function of the organisation is responsible for commissioning services that support victims of crime, reduce crime and/or antisocial behaviour as well as prevention initiatives. This specific role is to support the Commissioning Team with the commissioning of these services and provide business support including administration, financial administration and the organisation and management of meetings, including public meetings and multi-agencies boards and foras.
The commissioning team commissions many specialist services where there are victims/survivors of crime which include domestic abuse, sexual violence and children sexual abuse as well as more generic services.

It is essential that the applicants meet the following criteria:
* Demonstrate sound experience of working in an administrative role with budget management
* Co-ordinating of meetings, including compiling actions/minutes with follow up actions
* Monitoring budgets monthly, ensuring payment and invoice terms are met – setting up of accounts/purchase/service orders/working with Finance Business Partner
* Collating performance data from Grants and Contract and transcribing into excel documents (some with set criteria)
* Writing reports that are evidence based
* Support with the administration and management of contracts
* Working and delivering collaboratively with strategic partners and voluntary and community sector organisations
* Educated to GCSE Level in Maths and English or an equivalent qualification
* Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
* Good keyboard skills with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office – specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner
* Good understanding and experience of the main principles of budgetary and performance management
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative, manage a mixed and varied workload and be able to prioritise tasks
* Ability to find appropriate solutions to problems using own initiative and part of a team
* Ability to drive as required and attend remote locations across Norfolk County.
* Knowledge of information governance and data protection
* Ability to assimilate complex information, assess a range of scenarios and make recommendations
Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
