As part of the wider team in general practice, GP Assistants provide a support role, carrying out administrative tasks, combined in some areas with basic clinical duties. They help to support GPs and contribute to the smooth running of appointments, improving patients experience in the surgery. The focus of the role is on supporting General Practitioners in their day-to-day management of patients, specifically aimed at reducing the administrative burden, making best use of consultation time and supporting access to appointments.
Main duties of the job
* Supporting the administrative role of the GP in any way the GP deems appropriate, including the below but not limited to this list.
* Taking blood pressure, NHS Health checks & phlebotomy
* Access GP Browser and other 3rd party systems to support care and navigation of patients.
* Stock checks.
* Undertake chaperoning duties.
