Who we are looking for The role involves chatting to participants, assisting them to undertake activities and setting up sessions then tidying away at the end. All of the groups are different and we value the support of all our volunteers who work as part of our team. You would be supporting the delivery of a valued service which makes a difference to the lives to those who attend. Ideal for IThis role would suit someone with a cheerful personality and good communication skills who enjoys meeting and talking to people. It is important that you can work as part of a team and can also be perceptive to the needs of patients. You need to be sensitive, tactful, and diplomatic with good listening skills. When Monday - Carers Support Group: 10am - 11:30am Tuesday - Complimentary Therapy Group Activity: 10am - 11:30am, Notcutts coffee and chat drop in: 1pm - 3pm Wednesday - Information and Support Groups: 10am - 11:30am Thursday - Chair base exercise class: 1:30pm - 2:30pm Friday - Craft group: 1:30pm - 3:30pm We are also looking at starting a regular walking group activity. About the volunteer role Key Tasks - Greet participants to the session - Chat with participants, building up rapport to help put them at ease - Help get the room/equipment/drinks set up ready for the session to begin - Report back any significant conversations or observations during the session - Making drinks and clearing away - Help clear the room/equipment at the end of the session Skills Gained: Customer service Organisation/ prioritising Working within a team and idependently Skills Required: Good communication skills, Helpful and friendly attitude Professional approach Maintaining confidentiality
