Location: Leeds Contract: Temporary - 3 months Salary: £25-30 About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and solution-focused Housing Officer to provide vital short-term support to tenants over a 3-month period. This role will help tenants settle into their homes, sustain their tenancies, and work towards positive long-term housing outcomes. You will work closely with a multi-agency team, supporting tenants with a wide range of needs including mental health challenges, financial difficulties, and social integration, while promoting community spirit and respecting cultural and individual traditions. Key Responsibilities Support vulnerable new tenants in settling into their homes, connecting to utilities, and integrating into the community. Assist tenants in accessing benefits, grants, and services they are entitled to. Provide timely intervention to address unacceptable or anti-social behaviour. Refer tenants to internal and external support services where appropriate. Offer advice on budgeting, welfare reform, universal credit, and energy-saving measures. Provide support for tenants in debt or arrears in liaison with staff. Prepare tenancy paperwork and explain tenant rights clearly. Conduct tenancy support visits at agreed intervals. Maintain accurate, confidential tenant records. About You We are looking for someone who is: Empathetic, approachable, and resilient with excellent communication skills. Able to problem-solve, mediate, and achieve positive outcomes. Experienced in working with vulnerable individuals, including those with mental health issues. Knowledgeable in welfare benefits, tenancy support, and basic financial advice. Organised, with strong record-keeping and administration skills.
