Description
We wish to appoint an inspiring and dedicated Director of Drama from January 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, at this welcoming and highly successful girls' independent school. This is an opportunity to work in a school with motivated pupils, who have great fun whilst pursuing excellent academic results, and a very supportive ethos.
The Director of Drama is a full-time post, although a part-time arrangement might be considered for the right candidate. The postholder will be enthusiastic and able to contribute to the whole Drama programme, including after-school activities and rehearsals. As well as teaching Drama to GCSE, the ability to teach Drama to A level is expected, as are some technical skills, such as an ability to help with lighting and sound production.
The successful applicant will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and think and plan strategically. Ideally, they will also have some previous management or leadership experience. There is a busy programme of co-curricular Drama, including a whole school musical once every two years, smaller-scale productions and regular Junior musicals.
We offer a competitive salary and a supportive environment. There is auto-enrolment into the School's defined contribution pension scheme, free on-site parking, remission of fees for a daughter attending the School (in line with the current policy, subject to the usual standards and procedures for admission), and 'Death in Service' benefits.
