Conveyancing Assistant – Huddersfield
A strong opportunity is available for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a busy, well-established residential property team within a respected Huddersfield law firm. This full-time, office-based role suits someone with at least a year of practical conveyancing experience, particularly in residential sales and purchases.
The position is client-facing and ideal for a proactive, approachable and professional person who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal setting. You will support solicitors and fee earners with a high-volume caseload, managing all administrative tasks from opening files through to completion.
This is an excellent chance for someone seeking long-term progression in conveyancing and looking to advance their legal skills within a supportive, collaborative team.
Key responsibilities:
* Opening new files and entering client information into the case management system
* Preparing initial correspondence and legal documents, including sale contracts
* Overseeing transactions in line with internal processes and procedures
* Ordering searches and preparing client reports
* Supporting exchange of contracts, completions and post-completion work
* Communicating with clients, estate agents and solicitors by phone and email
* Managing incoming and outgoing post
* Handling general office administration such as billing, filing and archiving
What we're looking for:
* At least twelve months' experience in a Conveyancing Assistant or support role
* Experience handling residential sales and purchases
* Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Good IT skills and accurate typing
* Clear written and verbal communication
* Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
* Friendly, professional and dedicated to high standards of client care
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Positive, proactive and willing to take initiative
