Position: Field Manager | Location: covering Deepham Sewage Treatment Works, North London Region (Enfield, North London), also working out of Beckton Sewage Treatment Works (Ilford, East London) and the Slough Head Office (Slough Trading Estate, Berkshire) | Job Type: permanent, full-time | Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, plus on-call rota (start times to be discussed) | Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience | Benefits: 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays); health cash plan; free onsite parking; auto enrolment pension scheme.
Note: We operate 24/7 and require flexible hours, weekends and participation in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE and use of company equipment are provided.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of multi-skilled waste network service engineers in the delivery of reactive and planned 24/7 operational response
* Carry out site inspections
* Coordinate field engineers
* Manage fleet issues and vehicle utilisation
* Evaluate employee performance and conduct one-to-ones
* Liaise with office planners and team leaders
* Monitor engineers’ performances and adherence to budgets for equipment and consumables
* Assist the client with high-profile jobs
* Carry out HR activities including disciplinaries, interviews and pathway reviews
* Ensure wellbeing of field staff and ensure compliance with Lanes Group policies
* Perform any other reasonable ad hoc duties as required by Operations or Regional management
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard-working and respectful, comply with health and safety standards, and hold a full UK driver’s licence. Prior management/leadership experience is crucial. Knowledge of the utilities sector, especially drainage and wastewater, is advantageous. Strong prioritisation and multitasking skills, with the ability to build working relationships, are essential.
