As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will work at the heart of the local communities across Hampshire, providing a visible and accessible presence of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. It is a role with the potential to send you home every day with a tangible feeling of pride, knowing you have made a real difference to the lives of people in our communities. You will be a key part in crime prevention and community support by building partnerships with residents, schools and other groups. We are currently looking for PCSOs all over Hampshire and start dates for new applicants will be approximately early 2026.
Job Title: Police Community Support Officer
Location: Hampshire
Salary: £26,106 to £28,653 per annum
You will join us on a starting salary of £26,106, together with additional weekend enhancement and shift allowance payments of potentially around £4800 per annum (depending on your shift pattern), which is payable after the initial training period. We are pleased to confirm that you will obtain a Level 4 diploma in Community Policing Practice within the first 12 Months of your PCSO role.
Tattoos: If you have any tattoos, particularly any that would be visible while you are wearing uniform (such as on the hands, arms, face or neck), you will be asked to supply photographs of these to the Recruitment team, who will review them in line with our tattoo and standards of dress policy.
Qualifications: You need to be educated to QCF Level 2 (GCSE at grade A-C / 9-4 or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics or have work experience that would be deemed equivalent to this level. There may also be a requirement to study towards an English and Maths qualification, something which our Learning and Development Standards Unit will discuss with you. Our other entry requirements for the PCSO role are:
* Desirable: Full Manual Driving Licence
* Competence in basic office IT skills
