Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer based in Little Walden. The main purpose of the role is to provide electro-mechanical support for our baking, mixing and packing lines, producing baked products and powder blends. Also, general site maintenance and basic fabrication works.
The working hours are as follows – Mon – Thu 0800 – 1700, Fri 0700 – 1600.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To ensure supervision and safe operating procedures for visiting contractors
2. To maintain Health & Safety rules and regulations
3. To identify potential hazards/risks to the Health & Safety Manager/responsible person upon discovery
4. To ensure all PPM schedules are completed and developed using predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques
5. To initiate improvement plans in a pragmatic and proactive manner
6. To assist the engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts
7. To follow the correct accounting/authorisation process when ordering replacement parts
8. Maintain and improve standards of hygiene and housekeeping in all areas of the factory
9. To undertake emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient way on all production equipment
Education & Experience:
10. Electrical/Mechanical qualification, HND
11. FMCG experience
12. Stick, tig and mig welding ideally
13. Working knowledge of PPM systems
14. Trouble shooting and fault-finding diagnostics and resolution experience
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
16. Fork lift license
17. Demonstrate team skills with a positive attitude and professional approach
18. DSEAR/ATEX experience
19. Dedicated and enthusiastic individual, who can demonstrate strong team working, problem-solving and communication skills.
