Senior Support Worker at Creative Support
Do you have the commitment and positive values to make a difference to the lives of people living in a supported living service and Day Services in Horsforth, Leeds? We are looking for a calm, resourceful and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team. You will provide person-centred care and support to tenants, enabling them to take part in all aspects of everyday life and enjoy a wide range of activities. You will have skills in positive communication and engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support. You will have the maturity to work within a positive behaviour support framework, to accept responsibility and to grow in confidence as a skilled practitioner. You must be able to follow agreed guidelines and to work positively within a consistent and mutually supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care and support to tenants in a supported living service and Day Services.
* Support individuals to participate in everyday activities and engage in social, community, and recreational activities (e.g., walking, swimming, gym).
* Demonstrate positive communication, engagement, and unconditional positive regard.
* Work within a positive behaviour support framework and with a consistent, supportive team.
* Assist with personal care and domestic tasks as part of the role.
* Support with planning as a Key Worker/Co-Key Worker alongside the person\'s wider support network.
* Lead and supervise a team of Support Workers to implement individualised support and maintain effective communication.
* Align with service philosophy of high family involvement and developing this further.
* Adhere to safeguarding and guidelines and contribute to a safe, respectful environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Prior experience supporting adults with learning disabilities is essential.
* Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or 3).
* Ability to work within a team and follow agreed guidelines.
* Full-time role; location: Horsforth, Leeds area.
* Full training provided and opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
