A global manufacturer is now seeking a Plant Automation Engineer to join their new purpose-built facility in Leeds. A company that prides itself on being the largest Aerospace manufacturing group in the world. They supply a wide range of high-quality products for the aerospace and defence sectors, with a site stretching over 200,000 sq. feet and locations across the world. They have superb manufacturing facilities ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. They also have a highly experienced team of staff across all the divisions of manufacturing, along with team leaders, supervisors and managers who are responsible for their own respective departments.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you'll work closely with experienced manufacturing and automation engineers. Your role will involve identifying and leading continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing health and safety, productivity, automation, and reducing waste, Additionally, you'll aim to improve the operational metrics of the business and implement lean manufacturing practices.
Plant Automation Engineer duties include:
1. Identifying and leading continuous improvement projects
2. Designing fixtures and tooling in CAD
3. Project management
4. Liaising with contractors and suppliers
5. Preparing effective business case documentation to justify further capital expenditure.
6. Completing other adhoc duties as required
To be successful in the role of Plant Automation Engineer the ideal Candidate will have the following experience:
7. Holds a degree (HNC or BEng) in Engineering or an equivalent qualification
8. Prior exposure to programming industrial robots, with training available if needed
9. Hands on experience in industrial automation
10. Experience in designing fixtures and tooling
11. Proficient in 3D CAD
12. Focus on health and safety standards in a manufacturing environment
13. Proficient in the use of MS Office
