Learning Support Assistant (SEN / SEMH) – Specialist Schools Location: New Forest Area (Totton and Dibden) Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour Contract: Term Time Only Hours: Full-time and Part-time roles available Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools across the New Forest area and is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join supportive, inclusive school environments. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who require tailored emotional, behavioural, and educational support. The Role: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs Support learners with needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, SLD, PMLD, and associated behaviours Assist with communication strategies, sensory regulation, and emotional support Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to support Individual Education Plans (IEPs) Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment Support adapted learning activities and, where required, personal care or physical support (training provided) The Ideal Candidate: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH (school, care, youth work, or similar settings) A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Willingness to engage in training for behaviour support, safeguarding, and physical intervention A genuine passion for helping pupils reach their full potential Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
