Job Description
EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will manage the Paint Shop facility to ensure a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily operations of the paint shop team.
* Provide guidance on all paint shop operations, including blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs.
* Coach and mentor staff to develop skills.
* Estimate painting times, staffing, and costs to maximize efficiency.
* Develop and improve manufacturing methods considering health & safety and quality standards.
* Plan workspace utilization.
* Conduct quality checks before and after painting jobs.
* Minimize rework requirements.
* Coordinate with the Fitting Shop and meet production targets.
* Report progress to the Production Manager.
* Coordinate with management on production schedules and capabilities.
* Monitor and record performance metrics to improve efficiency.
* Streamline procurement of painting and blasting consumables.
Performance and Management
Apply performance management systems, support staff development, and ensure high standards of performance. Lead the team effectively, recognizing good performance and addressing issues proactively.
Financial and Resource Management
Ensure the paint shop operates efficiently within financial targets and seek innovative solutions for service improvements.
People Management
Provide leadership, promote teamwork, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct regular staff performance reviews, support personal development, and participate in recruitment and disciplinary processes.
General Responsibilities
Uphold company values, ensure health & safety compliance, and adhere to policies and procedures. Perform other duties as required, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry.
* On-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable
* Experience managing a Paint Shop and advising stakeholders.
* Management/Leadership qualification.
