This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Newcastle office. You’ll be supported by a squad that includes a strong lead, principal, senior, mid‑level and graduate set‑up, designed to support your growth and career development.
Key Responsibilities
* Test and maintain a new high‑quality, scalable front‑end application that integrates with internal APIs, ensuring a seamless user experience.
* Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Business Analysts to ship an elegant, performant, and reliable product that delivers a strong user experience.
* Work cross‑functionally with various Sage teams (Product management, QA/XD, product lines and business units) to deliver for our customers.
* Experiment with new technologies and methodologies to improve development processes and product offerings.
* Participate in refinement sessions to provide complete stories with concise designs and acceptance criteria ready for delivery by the engineering team.
* Maintain relevant documentation describing logic, coding/configuration, testing and changes where applicable.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle.
* Be an active and enthusiastic team player, partnering effectively with all team members to deliver against commitments.
* Collaborate with global teams across Sage to define, design, deliver and maintain other services across the Payroll and HR Business Unit.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in front‑end testing with a focus on Playwright/Accessibility.
* Experience using GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity.
* Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript (essential); knowledge of C# and SQL (favourable).
* Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, DocumentDB and others.
* Tooling experience with Bruno/Postman and Playwright.
* Experience with Agile Development & Scrum is an advantage.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
* Good communication and collaboration skills.
* Manual and cross‑browser testing experience.
