Job Description: Maintenance
Accountability Level
· Individuals in Care, Support and Service directly serve our customers (e.g. Service Users and their families, colleagues, purchasers and suppliers).
· It includes people who work individually or as members of teams and may include supervisory roles.
· These roles meet the needs of internal and external customers, guided by professional and corporate standards and procedures.
Job Purpose: To deliver high quality maintenance work around the home.
* To create and maintain an environment in the 'home' that enhances the experience of resident, visitors and staff.
* All duties are to be carried out unobtrusively, as quietly as possible and with due regard to residents, visitors and staff safety.
* This is achieved by implementing a plan that provides long term management of the 'Home' environment.
* The role requires the employee to maintain the grounds and all equipment effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
* Maintenance is to be conducted on site during ongoing development of the "home".
* On call support is an essential requirement of this role.

Job Specific Duties: Maintenance
Specific Duties Include:
* Conducts minor maintenance tasks required on the site as directed by the homes Manager and Directors of Capital Care Group.
* Carries out scheduled Maintenance and Redecoration Programmes as per Maintenance Manual.
* Conducts regular inspections and risk assessments, of the premises and equipment in accordance with Company policy and regulatory requirements.
* Reports all faults or repairs to manager.
* Monitors and assists contractors and engineers as required and ensures visitor books are completed on their arrival and departure.
* Maintains inventory of equipment and materials and ensures these are safely stored.
* To be part of an 'on-call' service should emergency works be required.
* Conduct weekly fire alarm checks and other regular checks as required.
* Conduct regular checks of the nurse call system
* Conduct regular checks on bed rails and ensure that bed bumpers comply with infection control guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge of DIY methods and materials.
* Hand and power tool operation applicable to trade.
* COSHH / Health and Safety.
* Moving and Handling
* Infection Control
