Role Overview
As a Team Leader – Community Support, you'll oversee, support, and inspire our care teams to deliver exceptional person-centred care. You'll be the go-to person during your shift, leading by example, ensuring high-quality standards, and making a genuine difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Routinely oversee and monitor care workers, care assistants, and support workers.
* Lead shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the service.
* Participate in the on-call rota, with full support from the office team.
* Conduct spot checks, supervisions, and support staff development.
* Review medication processes and assess staff medication competencies.
* Report concerns promptly to the management team, following the duty of candour.
* Advocate for both service users and staff.
* Respond to emergency care calls, which may include:
* Washing, shaving, bathing, showering, and dressing.
* Dental, toilet, menstrual, and continence care.
* Assisting with mobility and independence.
* Administer medications in line with care plans and records.
* Provide occasional short-notice shift cover to support the team.
* Work flexibly to accommodate varying shift patterns.
Working Pattern
* Shift hours: 07:00–14:00 and 16:00–22:00
* Two-week rolling rota:
* Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday
* Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
* Participation in the on-call rota, supported by the office team.
* Flexibility is essential to meet service needs.
Skills & Qualifications
* Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or working towards).
* Valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
* Safeguarding Adults Level 3 (training can be provided).
* Strong communication and listening skills, with well-spoken English.
* Confidence to challenge poor standards of care.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia care.
* Kind, compassionate, empathetic, and genuinely caring.
