Re-use Shop Operative – SUEZ
Contract type Fixed term – 3 month FTC – Full-time – 40 hrs per week – Location St Erth HWRC – Salary £12.60 per hour.
Summary: We’re looking for a customer‑focused person with retail experience to manage our re‑use shop. You’ll keep the shop stocked, run the cash register, and promote the charitable values of the re‑use scheme.
Responsibilities
* Merchandise donated goods, price, present and prepare for sale to increase sales and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Manage inventory, communicate to the re‑use hub manager the shop’s stock needs.
* Operate the cash register, count and reconcile cash and credit card receipts, process returns and refunds.
* Ensure goods are sold at appropriate value, dispose of rejected items appropriately.
* Arrange efficient and cost‑effective collections and deliveries.
* Maintain shop security, stock and cash.
Qualifications
* Prior retail experience, passion for the environment, enthusiasm for excellent customer service.
* Knowledge or interest in recycling and upcycling.
* Understanding of stock merchandising and financial aspects of retail.
* Flexible attitude to work shift work and weekend work will be required.
* Confidence to initially work alone in the re‑use shop (until volunteers recruited).
* Excellent teamwork skills to work closely with site staff on the HWRCs.
