Ward Clerk Role
The Ward Clerk acts as a receptionist and first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors to the department. The role involves clerical and general office duties, including managing case notes for all elective day surgery patients.
The post holder will provide a professional, efficient, and comprehensive service within the Day Surgery Unit. Using advanced computer skills, they will navigate Patient Administration Systems and participate in departmental audits.
This role requires the ability to work independently and under pressure, demonstrating multitasking skills. Close liaison with other disciplines is essential to provide a courteous, reliable, and high-quality service to patients, relatives, carers, and healthcare professionals.
