Security Supervisor Job Description
To protect our customer's property, people, and/or assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes.
Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in contract retention.
Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
Pay Rate: £13.26 an hour
Shifts: 12 hours shifts, 4 on 4 off
Main Duties
1. The role supports the Operations Manager in facilitating and administering security operations on a busy, high-profile, and prestigious contract.
2. Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of security.
3. Act as the first point of contact for the security team, ensuring standards of dress, discipline, and conduct are maintained.
4. Assist in ongoing training of resident security teams and ensure all new officers are fully trained and inducted, including procedures related to CCTV, access control, deliveries, fire alarms, and intruder alarms.
5. Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods.
6. Assist in reviewing security officers' performance and development.
7. Support investigations related to security or equipment issues, such as thefts, missing items, or complaints.
8. Provide customer/client liaison as required.
9. Ensure adherence to Assignment Instructions by security and shipping personnel.
10. Convey important messages during security handovers, ensuring all personnel read and acknowledge them.
11. Keep security records and logs up to date.
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation on data protection.
13. Deliver mandatory training to staff and maintain accurate training records.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous security experience
* SIA license
* Good literacy and communication skills, with excellent verbal and written English
* Computer and software literacy
* Reliability, self-motivation, and ability to work independently
* Problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills
* Ability to motivate staff
* Tact and diplomacy in dealing with people at all levels
