Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed individual to join a local school in Bovington as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA), starting immediately.
About the Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you’ll play a key role in helping students thrive in their learning environment. You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance and promote emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students in managing emotions and behaviours through structured routines.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.
* Promote resilience, safety, and mutual respect in all interactions.
* Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement effective support plans.
Requirements
* Experience working with children, ideally in a SEN or SEMH setting is desirable.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of behaviour management strategies.
To work with GSL Education as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you should:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
