Job Description:
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves and adapts, this team ensures that the tools and technologies we use are up-to-date. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll help us stay ahead by adopting the latest technologies and identifying efficient workflows. You’ll focus on maintaining high standards through process monitoring and implementing upgrades to improve performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team each shift to ensure equipment availability and proper functioning.
2. Monitor processes to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
3. Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
4. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and productivity across an EU-wide function.
5. Use tools like SCADA to monitor process performance.
6. Collaborate with your line manager on administrative tasks.
This role is based at one of our operational sites. You will work in shifts, including some weekends and nights. Gaining experience in this role can lead to more senior positions within Amazon.
About the Team:
The RME team maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment across Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Our team is comprised of technically skilled professionals working on advanced technology, including automation and robotics. We focus on reducing downtime to ensure timely customer deliveries, often working during off-hours to minimize disruption. There are ample opportunities for career progression within the RME team and across Amazon.
Basic Qualifications:
* Full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
* Experience in a technical leadership role.
* Experience in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Experience with automation or material handling equipment environments.
* Proficiency in verbal and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in multi-contractor and multi-site environments.
* Understanding of PLC control systems and statutory compliance.
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
* Degree in a technical or operations discipline (preferred).
