. At its site in Middlewich, Cheshire, UK (with immediate central links to the M6), Indaver operates a solvent recycling facility; accepting hazardous and non-hazardous (waste) solvents. Under the brand name Indaver Solvents, Indaver offers high-end solvent recycling solutions and supports its customers with lab analyses, pilot scale trials and commercial scale recycling. Since, when Indaver purchased this site, there's been a healthy amount of investment in the site to improve process and the environment where staff work.
The Senior E&I Engineer will lead and develop the E&I strategy of the site, ensuring compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement. This will be very much project driven, but guiding the maintenance team and supporting with PPM schedules/programs etc., will also be a vital part of the job.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Lead and develop the E&I strategy of the site, ensuring compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
2. Support and guide the maintenance manager with the day-to-day maintenance activities across electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines including updating procedures, and preventative maintenance plans
3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the maintenance team and contractors.
4. Support the Sr Project managers (site based & group engineering) with the design of new solvent recycling plants (UK mainly and abroad)
5. Ensure all E&I systems comply with UK regulations (e.g., BS, ATEX, DSEAR, PUWER, COMAH).
6. Oversee and ensure delivery of small to mid-sized enabling projects including automation upgrades, control system improvements, and equipment replacements.
Experience & Qualifications required
7. Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
8. 5+ years relevant experience in a COMAH/chemical or process manufacturing environment.
9. Proven track record managing E&I maintenance and projects, including budget responsibility.
10. Strong working knowledge of UK electrical regulations, functional safety, and industrial control systems.
11. Experience with permit-to-work systems, contractor management, and site safety leadership.
12. Familiarity with CMMS and engineering drawing tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
13. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
14. Must be eligible to work full-time in the UK, without visa support.
