Are you passionate about debating and inspiring young minds? Wellington College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Debating Coach to lead and develop our student debating team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of confident, articulate thinkers through engaging coaching and competitive opportunities.
About the role:
You will join on a casual contract for 2 hours a week.
As Debating Coach, you will:
* Deliver weekly coaching sessions in British Parliamentary Style
* Support both beginners and experienced debaters
* Prepare students for competitions and provide tailored feedback
* Foster links with other schools to expand competitive opportunities
* Lead team selection and manage sign-ups for events
* Promote general knowledge and critical thinking through debate
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proven success in debating competitions
* Strong knowledge of British Parliamentary debating
* Experience coaching students
* Minimum 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths)
Desirable:
* Experience in national-level competitions
* Team England debating experience
* Understanding of safeguarding in educational settings
