The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Hyde House. This is a senior role within our culinary team, reporting to the Executive Chef, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations – from menu development and food quality to leadership and compliance.
The successful candidate will be creative, organised, and highly motivated, with a proven track record in high-volume, high-quality catering – ideally within weddings, banqueting, or fine dining.
Responsibilities include:
* Lead and inspire the kitchen team at Hyde House to deliver exceptional food for weddings, private dining, and events.
* Work with the Executive Chef to design and deliver seasonal menus that reflect our brand standards and wow our guests.
* Manage day-to-day kitchen operations including ordering, stock control, and supplier management.
* Ensure consistent delivery of dishes to the highest standards of presentation, flavour, and quality.
* Train and develop kitchen staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and teamwork.
* Maintain full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen regulations.
* Manage kitchen budgets, food costs, and wastage effectively.
* Act as a key part of the leadership team, working collaboratively with front-of-house to deliver seamless events.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in weddings, events, or premium hospitality.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* A flair for menu creation, with an understanding of seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
* Highly organised with strong financial acumen and an eye for detail.
* Calm under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills.
* A genuine passion for food and hospitality, with a guest-first mindset.
