About the School

We are now looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor so join the team at Notre Dame Catholic Academy.
Responsible for:
The Cover Supervisor will be used for short and long term absences of a teacher. These might be known in advance (for example where a teacher has a medical appointment or is undergoing professional development) or unexpected (for example absence due to illness).
Supervising groups where a teacher is absent/unavailable.
* Taking responsibility for teaching groups when a member of staff is on long term sickness.
* Covering various subjects at KS3/ KS4 /KS5.
* Ensure work is completed by the students to a high standard.
* Managing the behaviour of students whilst they are undertaking work to ensure a constructive working environment.
* Monitoring the students and making sure they are kept on task and to ensure the quality of work set by departmental personnel is challenging and appropriate.
* Managing the work of Learning Support Assistants assigned to the classes.
* To invigilate examinations as directed by the Examinations Officer
* To deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures.
* Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
* Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising.
* To support the Catholic ethos and share its commitment to provide and monitor opportunities for personal, spiritual and academic growth.
