“Great questions make great reporting.” Diane Sawyer.Sheridan Maine is looking for a skilled Audit and Accounts Senior to join a respected and growing accountancy firm in Essex. This role provides a balance of audit and accounts work, ideal for someone seeking variety and client-facing responsibility within a supportive environment.Key responsibilities.
* Plan, lead and complete audit assignments for a diverse client portfolio.
* Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
* Draft corporation tax computations and liaise with HMRC where needed.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering clear advice and support.
* Review work prepared by junior staff and assist in their development.
* Ensure compliance with current accounting and auditing standards.
* Report directly to managers and partners with progress updates and findings.
What we’re looking for.
* ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist with strong practice experience.
* Solid background in both audit and accounts.
* Strong communication and time management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and technical knowledge.
* Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
* Team player with a proactive and client-focused attitude.
