Role Objective:
Support the creation and ongoing development of the Operations and Emergency Handbook for our clients Datacenter. The focus is on best practices, ISO standards (especially ISO 27001), resilience, compliance, and efficient operations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain an Operations Handbook (including governance, workflows, service execution, troubleshooting framework).
* Create and update an Emergency Handbook (incident response, disaster recovery, risk mitigation).
* Document and define processes to ensure operations and emergency response.
* Conduct risk assessments and derive measures to strengthen operational security.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and BREEAM standards.
* Support audit and certification preparation.
* Execute refinement cycles for continuous improvement of documentation until October 2025.
* Advise and support the client in implementing energy-efficient tools and practices according to EED and BREEAM.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all documentation meets current standards and legal requirements.
* Work closely with the client and project leads.
* Serve as the technical contact for all questions regarding the Datacenter Handbook.
* Support training and onboarding of staff in new processes and handbooks.
Requirements
Professional Skills:
* In-depth knowledge of Data Center Operations and ITIL framework.
* Experience with ISO 27001, BREEAM, and EED guidelines.
* Expertise in incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
* Experience in creating and maintaining operational and emergency handbooks.
* Ability to conduct risk assessments and derive mitigation measures.
* Experience in documenting and optimizing IT processes.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
* Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
* Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
* Knowledge of network architecture and security (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs).
* Familiarity with backup and restore solutions (Veeam, Commvault).
* Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
* Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
* Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability technologies in data centers.
* Familiarity with compliance and audit tools for ISO 27001.
* Familiar with DACH Region relevant Certification (BSI, C5)
