About the Role
You will be based within the Customer Connections Department at NESO. The team manages the connection of generation and demand to Great Britain’s high voltage electricity network, helping the country transition towards a clean power future that can deliver our climate change goals. You will be a key member of a team responsible for designing strategic improvements to the new and reformed end‑to‑end process for managing connections. Your work will involve developing and supporting the implementation of solutions to a range of challenges within a specific part of the connections process. You will collaborate with other NESO teams, industry, Ofgem and government. Locations: Wokingham, Warwick, Glasgow (hybrid office‑home). The role is open to full‑time, part‑time and flexible working arrangements.
Key Accountabilities
* Research, develop, engage and gain approval for solutions to challenges within the reformed connections arrangements.
* Ensure proposals are robust, well justified, align with NESO strategy and policy, and account for data, technology, regulatory, commercial considerations and organisational capability.
* Manage work in an organised and efficient way, establishing key milestones and deliverables, and reporting regularly to ensure timely, high‑standard delivery.
* Engage proposal stakeholders (DESNZ, Ofgem, Transmission Owners, Distribution Network Owners) to present and explain information clearly and concisely.
* Deliver communication and engagement strategies to set best practice across the team, including managing customer queries.
* Develop professionally to drive performance and create a strong career path plan.
* Monitor political, economic and social developments that may impact the Connections Team and brief others as applicable.
* Support the Connections Design Team Manager in developing and delivering strategy to promote a “One Team” spirit and enhance team wellbeing.

What You'll Get
* Competitive salary of £62,000 – £67,000 per annum, dependent on experience and capability.
