We are seeking to appoint a passionate and talented Teacher of Geography to join our thriving Humanities Faculty at Oathall Community College. This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave, starting at the beginning of the Spring term (January The successful candidate will be able to teach Geography at Key Stage 3, with the flexibility to teach a small amount of Religious Education and Life Learning.

The Geography team consists of five specialist teachers and is part of a wider humanities faculty with a dedicated faculty assistant. The geography teachers follow an enquiry based approach to learning and the comprehensive schemes of work are continually reviewed to ensure the highest standards. Students make outstanding progress with 27% of students achieved 7+ at GCSE last year. Geography is a consistently popular option with over 150 students having chosen to study at GCSE next year.
Geography is part of the Humanities Faculty and are accommodated together in well-resourced subject specific classrooms. The faculty has a suite of Chromebooks for students to use and there is a dedicated humanities work area for staff.

Oathall
is a mixed comprehensive secondary school for students aged between 11 and 16. We are situated on the boundaries of the town of Haywards Heath and the village of Lindfield in the heart of Mid-Sussex. The college opened in 1938 and has a full spectrum of specialist accommodation and facilities including well-equipped classrooms, a music centre, library, drama & dance studios, a fitness gym and a large sports hall. Outside we have large playing fields used for sport, a floodlit full-size 3G artificial turf pitch and a five acre farm.
