Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA)
Contract: 2-3 months with the potential to extend
Pay: £16 - £22 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm - 3 days working from home, 2 days in the London OfficeWe are looking for a passionate and skilled Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) to join our team, supporting LGBT+ survivors of sexual abuse and violence. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives by providing trauma-informed, empowerment-based, and person-centred support.
About the Role
As an ISVA, you will work directly with LGBT+ survivors across London, helping them to feel supported, heard, and empowered in the face of sexual abuse and violence. You will:
* Provide practical and emotional support to survivors, tailored to their needs.
* Support clients through the criminal justice system, including attending Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) and court.
* Act as a trusted point of contact, advocating on behalf of clients with agencies and services.
* Build strong partnerships with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure survivors receive joined-up, holistic care.
* Maintain accurate records, contribute to monitoring and evaluation, and support the development of inclusive, survivor-led services.
About You
We're looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and committed to supporting LGBT+ survivors. You'll bring:
* Experience of supporting survivors of sexual violence (paid or voluntary).
* A strong understanding of the experiences and barriers faced by LGBT+ people.
* Knowledge of safeguarding best practice for children and adults at risk.
* The ability to manage a caseload, prioritise under pressure, and maintain professional boundaries.
* A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
A relevant qualification (e.g. ISVA, IDVA) would be beneficial but is not essential. We welcome applications from people with transferable skills and lived experience.
