Key Responsibilities:
* Technology Influence Development: Monitor key trends in transformative technologies (e.g., GenAI, quantum, fusion, decarbonization, etc.) and establish Tencent’s thought leadership globally. Produce sector analysis to inform investment decisions.
* Collaborate with Global Public Affairs, R&D, investment, and business teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear strategic communications that reinforce Tencent’s leadership in innovation.
* Investment & Strategic Communications: Showcase Tencent’s global investments and collaborations in the tech ecosystem, reinforcing its brand as a thought leader. Build relationships with universities, venture capital firms, and policymakers to foster strategic partnerships. Explore potential transition into an investment track as career development.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM (Master’s or PhD preferred) or deep expertise in a frontier technology field.
* Professional Experience (choose one):
o 3-5 years in technology-focused roles at top consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, BCG), leading industry white papers.
o Strong technology research background in investment banking or asset management, with experience in industry research or sector analysis.
o Science or technology communication experience as columnists or journalists at top media outlets, or at leading tech companies, VCs, or universities.
* Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of global tech startup ecosystems, investment trends, and regulatory landscapes.
* Language: Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences, including public platforms like LinkedIn or blogs. Chinese proficiency is a plus.
