Position : Fixed Term, Full time, Till June 2027

Location : Preston

Salary : 119,089.36 - 124,065.76, plus super and salary packaging is available

The Organisation

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

The focus of this role is to utilise VACCA’s experience, internally and to other Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) currently or in future taking on Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal Care (ACAC) and Community Protecting Boorais (CPB) projects. This role will leverage VACCAs policy, program, practice & legal knowledge to provide training and support to the ACCOs. Specifically it will develop and deliver content and training


About You

* Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, along with awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities, and commitment to continually build knowledge in this area
* Previous work experience in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations sector, particularly child and family welfare sector including experience working with Aboriginal children, families and communities
* Strong understanding of the process of identifying training needs analysis and capacity to deliver high quality and relevant training packages including designing and building content, presentations and spreadsheets
* Excellent interpersonal skills including a capacity to engage and work with a diverse range of people with a view to improving outcomes for children, families and their communities
* Very strong experience and skill in Project management, leading projects and commitment to continuous improvement within budget.
* CertIV in Training and Assessment or equivalent Knowledge of child protection practice and the CYFA 2005
* Ability to provide meaningful support to wider team with other projects including delivering other training packages


Requirements

* Valid Police Check
* aWorking with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain)
* aVictorian Driver Licence
* Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended)
