Job summary
Weare recruiting a part time receptionist to join our team at Briarwood MedicalCentre.
We pride ourselves onproviding a very high level of support to our patients when they access ourservices and our reception team is usually their first point of contact.
Previousexperience of working in general practice would be desirable but a strong focus on customerservice and a desire to do things well are essential.
The post is for 30 hours per week working over three days (Monday, Tuesday and Friday to However, you must also be flexible to cover for team members annual leave.
Main duties of the job
To deal with all enquiries from patients efficiently and courteously. Ensure that all filing, record keeping and distribution of documentation is undertaken in accordance with practice policy.

Job responsibilities
Act as first point of contact for patients to facilitate their access to the range of services provided by the Practice and where appropriate signpost them to the wider healthcare system.
Answer the telephone to patients and other callers.
Greet, assist and direct patients and visitors to the Practice
Co-ordinate the flow of communication between clinicians and patients during the working day. Ensure that messages are accurately delivered to the appropriate person
Pro-actively invite patients to attend appointments, check-up or regular long-term condition clinics as appropriate.
Provide patients with appointment slots that, to the greatest extent possible, meet their needs and optimise the use of clinical time in accordance with practice policies.
Actively promote services to patients and facilitate their access to them.
Ensure patient contacts by phone or in person are accurately recorded on the system so that other members of the team have a complete picture of a patients status if they are dealing with them in future.
Provide support to other members of the team as appropriate
Processing requests for medication and resolving queries in line with protocol.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving how we provide care
General administration to support the smooth running of the practice.

Essential
1. Experience in a customer service role. Knowledge of how to handle and manage personal sensitive data in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations
