Salary: £111,430 – £148,064 per annum pro rata
Overview
NHS Highland is seeking a third Breast Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team and replace a colleague retiring this year. Within the Highland Breast Centre in Inverness we host the North of Scotland Breast Screening Service which screened 14,000 women last year and provide a specialist symptomatic service for the populations of NHS Highland and NHS Western Isles. The Centre manages around 300 new breast cancer diagnoses each year.
Responsibilities
* Provide the surgical service for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients.
* Deliver oncoplastic breast surgery – experience strongly desirable.
* Co‑operate with the multi-disciplinary team to manage screening and symptomatic patients.
* Support and mentor non‑medical staff and nurses, contributing to a high quality patient‑focused service.
* Engage in teaching and research activities in partnership with the University of Aberdeen.
* Participate actively in regional collaborations as part of the North Cancer Alliance and the North of Scotland Breast Screening Service.
Qualifications & Experience
* Board‑certified consultant breast surgeon (or equivalent).
* Strong background in breast surgery with an emphasis on oncoplastic techniques preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team and to lead by example.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
