Job Overview
As an Electronic Architect you will define the electronic and electrical architecture of equipment, conduct analysis and decomposition to lower‑level requirements, and ensure customer requirements are met within strict space and environmental constraints. You will work closely with the Engineering Project Manager to manage all technical elements of Electronic Equipment, ensuring On Time, On Cost, On Quality delivery of the technical solution.
Responsibilities
- Define electronic and electrical architecture of equipment.
- Conduct analysis and decomposition to lower‑level requirements.
- Ensure design meets challenging customer requirements within limited physical space and harsh operating environments.
- Manage technical elements of electronic equipment delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders and customers, communicating effectively and influencing decisions.
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and the ability to make decisions in an evolving environment.
Qualifications
- Degree level (or equivalent) in electronics or a related field.
- Significant experience in digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
- Experience with power electronics for distributed power networks.
- Experience designing equipment for safety‑critical environments and for handling sensitive customer data.
- Understanding of software and firmware development techniques.
- Expertise in compact packaging and thermal management for high‑performance electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of system‑on‑chip technologies, RF, signal processing, and software‑defined radio is beneficial.
- Experience in EMC and environmental design is beneficial.

Salary and Location
Salary: circa £70,000 depending on experience. Location: Stevenage – relocation package may be offered.
Security Clearance
British citizenship or dual UK nationality with British citizenship. Successful candidates will require HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
