Teaching Personnel is currently supporting a welcoming primary school in Bishop Auckland that is seeking an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Early Years practitioner who thrives in a nurturing environment and enjoys supporting children at the very beginning of their learning journey.
The school is looking for a teacher who can bring creativity, patience, and strong knowledge of the EYFS framework to the classroom, helping to create an engaging environment where children feel confident, supported, and excited to learn.
About the Role
As the EYFS Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the Early Years setting. You will work closely with support staff and parents to ensure children develop socially, emotionally, and academically in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework
• Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitoring and assessing pupil development against Early Learning Goals
• Supporting children’s communication, social skills, and independence
• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and Early Years staff
• Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support children’s development
• Maintaining safeguarding and welfare standards in line with school policies
What We’re Looking For
Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who understands the importance of the early years in shaping a child’s future learning.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching within an EYFS setting
• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A nurturing and patient approach to supporting young learners
• The ability to work collaboratively within a school team
