Secondary schools across Gateshead are seeking Exam Invigilators to support the safe and orderly running of examinations. This Exam Invigilator role involves overseeing students during assessments and ensuring all exam processes are completed correctly.
You will work as part of an exams team to uphold standards set by awarding bodies and school policies.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Organising exam rooms prior to candidate entry
2. Supervising students during assessments to ensure compliance
3. Handling examination papers and materials securely
4. Reporting any issues or irregularities to senior staff
5. Maintaining appropriate exam conditions throughout sessions
Requirements:
6. A responsible and reliable approach to work
7. Ability to remain focused for extended periods
8. Clear verbal and written communication skills
9. Availability to work flexibly during exam periods
10. Experience in an education setting is advantageous but not required
Additional Details:
11. Work is typically available during GCSE and A-Level exam windows
12. Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check
