The Opportunity
The purpose of this newly created role is to ensure accurate and efficient stock control within our warehouse operation, supporting the smooth flow of goods in and out of the business. As Stock Controller, you will play a critical role in maintaining product availability, minimising discrepancies, and upholding the high standards expected in a health-focused environment.
As a Stock Controller, you will be responsible for managing stock levels, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and a tight-knit team, you'll be responsible for maintaining efficient stock operations to support the wider business.
Teamwork, accuracy, flexibility and a can-do, hardworking attitude are essential. Working hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm, with summer early finishes on Friday.
What will you get up to?
As a Stock Controller, you will be at the centre of our warehouse operations, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Maintain Accurate Stock Levels:
Continuously monitor inventory across all warehouse locations to ensure stock levels are accurate and up to date, helping to avoid stockouts, overstocking, or expired product issues.
* Conduct Regular Stock Takes:
Plan and carry out regular cycle counts and full stock audits, investigate and reconcile any discrepancies, and report findings to the Warehouse Manager with recommended corrective actions.
* Goods Inward Management:
Receive and thoroughly inspect incoming deliveries to confirm they match purchase orders and meet our quality standards. Accurately log goods into the stock management system and communicate any issues to relevant teams.
* Goods Outward Support:
Collaborate with dispatch colleagues to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped correctly. Ensure accurate stock movements are recorded in real time to maintain system integrity.
* Stock Rotation & Date Code Management:
Monitor use-by and best-before dates, particularly on health and wellness products, to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
* System Data Entry & Accuracy:
Accurately input stock transactions into the inventory management system, including adjustments, returns, quarantines, and transfers. Maintain clean and organised digital records for audits and reporting.
* Issue Identification & Resolution:
Quickly identify stock issues or anomalies, investigate root causes, and implement solutions in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager and other departments. Escalate critical issues when needed.
* Liaise with Internal Teams:
Work closely with purchasing, customer service, production, and quality assurance teams to share stock information, flag supply risks and support forecasting or order planning.
* Support Stock-Related Projects:
Take part in process improvement projects, system upgrades, or warehouse layout changes that impact stock control. Provide insights from your day-to-day experience to improve efficiency.
* Warehouse Standards & Safety:
Help maintain a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment. Follow all health and safety procedures, particularly those relating to handling of health products and manual handling tasks.
* Team Collaboration:
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture in a small warehouse team. Support team members across different tasks during peak periods or absences and promote a collaborative and proactive work ethic.
Who do we need?
· Previous experience in a stock control, inventory, or warehouse-based role
· Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
· Good IT skills, ideally with experience using stock management or ERP systems
· Excellent organisational and time management skills
· A proactive and hands-on attitude, comfortable working in a small team
· Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across departments
· Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving stock as needed
· FLT licences (training and refreshers provided)
