Duties
* Operate flatbed lorries for the transportation of goods to designated locations
* Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to safety regulations
* Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after journeys to identify any maintenance issues
* Plan routes efficiently to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs
* Comply with all legal requirements related to driving hours, weight limits, and road safety laws
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
* Assist with loading or unloading when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods
Experience
* Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience in similar logistics environments
* Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations and securing loads effectively
* Valid driving licence suitable for driving large commercial vehicles (category C or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards
* Experience in long-distance or regional driving preferred but not essential
* Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles safely under various weather conditions and terrains
