Position: Mental Health Adviser - Practice Development in Substance Misuse (Band 7)
The Welsh Ambulance Service is currently seeking to employ a Mental Health Adviser - Practice Development in Substance Misuse (Band 7) to deliver high-quality care for individuals calling 999 in crisis.
Reporting to the Specialist Clinical Lead for Mental Health, you will be required to work independently and autonomously. You should have recent experience as a Band 6 (or above) nurse or social worker, with the ability to manage operational and professional issues within emergency, unscheduled care, and telephone triage settings.
Key skills include excellent organisational and leadership abilities, experience with small-scale improvement projects, effective communication at all levels, problem-solving under pressure, and flexibility. You should be forward-thinking, imaginative, collaborative, and capable of inspiring others.
An induction program will be provided based on experience, mainly during office hours, including telephone triage training, with potential travel to other sites.
This role may involve working on some weekends, bank holidays, and other unsocial hours.
Desirable: The ability to speak Welsh; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
